Don’t have the time!
This is a common phrase I hear all the time when it comes to eating healthy meals. This is also a common statement I hear for being able to eat small frequent meals throughout the day. I thought the same thing about “The Zone” when I first thought about having to weigh and measure all my meals. I couldn’t imagine how much time it was going to take to prepare 5-7 meals a day and also weigh and measure them. From my own experience with ”The Zone” I can say, it actually saves me time and makes me eat small frequent healthy meals.
What made me think of this common phrase was this morning when I crawled out of bed and went to go get my mug of coffee and start making all my meals. I was tired and just did not want to do it. Well to say the least that thought was short lived. I thought to myself that I don’t have the time not to make and prepare all my meals. What I mean is that my day is so busy that if I didn’t prepare them I probably would go long periods without eating and the foods I would probably eat would not be healthy. This type of eating would make me hungry, irritable, sluggish, and to many other things to list. This is why I took an hour this morning to prepare all my meals for the day. Even when I measure and weigh everything it doesn’t take me more than an hour to prepare 5-7 meals. I know it would take me a lot longer than an hour to try to find food throughout the day and I know for a fact it would not be as healthy.
I am still trying to stay disciplined and make my full month. If I had to grade myself this 2nd week into it, I would say I have a B so far. I am keeping my meals balanced and frequent. However, I am not quite sure what my total block intake is somedays but I know it is usually between 18 and 20.
I seem to be gaining some weight since starting ”The Zone” yet I feel like I am a little leaner. I believe this is because I was lacking some carbohydrates in my meals before I started “The Zone”. You will notice if you are taking in good quality carbohydrates like fruits and vegetables your portion size for these will be a lot larger than your protein portions; however, if you are taking in unfavorable carbs like breads and sugars, your carbohydrate portions will be much smaller.
I will leave you with a quote to think about:
“The wise man should consider that health is the greatest of human blessings. Let food be your medicine.”

Thanks for sharing your motivational message today. It helps keep me in the “Zone”.
