There will only be an 8am and 10am class today.

“Murph” Challenge

For time:
1 mile Run
100 Pull-ups
200 Push-ups
300 Squats
1 mile Run

In memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, 29, of Patchogue, N.Y., who was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005.

Partition the pull-ups, push-ups, and squats as needed. Start and finish with a mile run. If you’ve got a twenty pound vest or body armor, wear it.

Compare to May 28, 2016.

    Didn’t have a pull-up bar but did bring my 14# weight vest and gave it my best shot!!!
    1 mile run
    (No pullups)
    200 push-ups
    300 squats
    1 mile run
    About 46 minutes – nice and humid and hilly and very sweaty- happy I got something done but sad I missed it at cfj!! I’m sure you all rocked it 🙂

  2. Murph – No partition, no vest, 177# bodyweight:
    68:21 (69:25 last year; 1:04 PR)

    1-Mile Run: 7:39 (7:20)
    100 Pullups: 13:41 (14:20)
    200 Pushups: 15:34 (20:31)
    300 Air Squats: 18:19 (17:31; legs started cramping in the thirties)
    1-mile Run: 13:08 (9:43)

    I think next year I’ll partition the WOD and carb load the day before. That last run was just painful. Great job this morning Russ

    Last mile=9:5?…that last 800m HURT!
    Great job to everyone who takes this on! Amazing job to Meredith and Shannon for going straight through with me..wouldn’t want to do it any other way! Thanks to everyone who has served and continues to serve our country!

  9. I am not going to lie, I had planned on doing MURPH early tomorrow am since I coached the morning classes. However, after watching all of you dig deep in the heat and humidity and push hard for MURPH, you got inside my veins and blood and motivated me to do it today. Not a PR by far but worked real hard for MURPH!
