  1. Greetings Jenk’s CrossFitters,
Hope the Christmas period was wonderful. I was able to knock out a WOD today as I prepare to roll out in two days. Coach Berry hooked me up with an Army centric WOD, so I thought. Good Ole Barbara. As with my other dates with her, she is a little deceiving. I believe it is because they are common Army exercises I seem to know/practice and anytime I see the word break in a CrossFit WOD I get excited. I should know better. Additionally my Holiday chow plan was probably not optimum nutrition. I say all the time, what I input sure affects my output on WODs.

Went hard right out of the gate
    RD 1 = 3:55 all exercises unbroken

RD 2 = 4:08 pull-ups broken once and air squats broken twice. This set totally gassed me and made me quezy/pukie held it in. Blame this on my diet the last couple of days. This three minute recovery time was way too fast.

RD 3 = 5:07 too many breaks to count as you can see the above set destroyed this one

RD 4 = 5:39 still trying to survive from my first two hard sets

RD 5 = 4:23 recovered some slapped myself a couple of times and told myself to gut it out this last set. It worked got back under 5 min

TOTAL TIME of work (not counting 3 minute recovery’s) = 23:12

Best of luck with your date doing BARBERA She hurt me today more than normal

I will try to post as much as possible with my travels and new life. Look forward to your times, training improvements, and comments. Oh Yea I have copied Julie’s Birthday WOD and will definitely try it myself and have others perform it. Good job to all of you and supporting her and Dating her on her 33rd Birthday. Happy Belated Birthday Julie. Train Hard, Train Smart, Train to Survive! OkieDB Out

  2. Great job OkieDB! I knew you would be hard to beat on this one. Also great job to Jim and Jeff, who put out a great performance this morning with “Barbara”.

    Round 1= 4:07
    Round 2= 4:10
    Round 3= 4:36
    Round 4= 5:09
    Round 5= 5:22

All pull-ups and squats unbroken. Did military sit-ups with hands interlaced behind the head. The sit-ups killed me and my times.

Maybe this week is a sign for me to get back training my weaknesses like burpees and sit-ups.

  3. 34/M/225
    Location: Galveston beach

    ran 5K in 26:15

I know this is pretty slow, but its 2 min. faster than I’ve ever run in a 5k race! and I don’t run anymore! (other than what coach prescribes)

keep up the good work guys,
    see u in a few!

  4. Danny, That is NOT SLOW!!! Thats what I did mine in the other day : ) … Great pic of you by the way!!! Hope you guys are having an awesome time in Galveston!!

I’ll be honest in saying this one sucked today and I’m disappointed in my overall performance. Coach Berry got tired of listening to me whine and complain about the beating I was taking from “Barb” and let me call it quits at 4 rounds. I know this isn’t the CrossFit way, but I was having a hard go of it. I shall strive to take on her challenge when we meet once again.

    Time: about 37-38 minutes! 🙁

    1st round- 8:31
    2nd round-8:09
    3rd round-8:50
    4th round-8:08
    5th round-9:08

Felt really slow on this one… I ate some Mexican dip about 20 minutes before I started my workout (not a good idea)!! This is the closest I’ve been to meeting Mr. Pukie! : )

Have not posted in a few days, as I have been out of town.

Christmas Day – played tennis with my 20yr. old stepson. I won 6-1, 6-3, 7-5
My Crossfit Training gave me a terrific endurance boost in the match.

Yesterday I did 4 rounds of 25 push-ups, 25 sit-ups, 25 squats. I had no idea that “Barbara” would be prescribed the next day. Then I ran 5K on a course in Lampasas, TX that was nothing but straight up hill and straight downhill over and over for about 2 miles. Ran 32:41

Today I did modified “Barbara” leaving out the pull-ups, as I had no access to pull-up bar.
    Did 5 rounds of 30push-ups, 40sit-ups, 50squats.
    I did the 3 minute rests and rounds went: 8:25, 8:27, 9:55, 10:12, 11:36.
    Total work: 48:35
The squats slowed me the most. I feel like I weigh 400 lbs. when I am doing them.
