“Carry your weight”
1 Round for time of:
45 Sumo Deadlift High Pulls – 45 lbs
45 Front Squats – 45 lbs
45 Push Press – 45 lbs
45 Squat jumps (6 inch jump with the barbell in the back squat postion) – 45 lbs
45 Walking Lunges – 45 lbs
45 Hanging Power Snatches – 45 lbs
45 Thrusters – 45 lbs
In this workout you can’t let the barbell touch the ground and you can’t put it down. It must stay in contact with only you and your body at all times until the completion of the workout!
Danny Smith, one of our first members, has lost 45 lbs since he started back in October 2007! His bodyweight has went from 239 to 194, waist size from 42 to 32 inches, bodyfat from 33% to 18%, resting pulse from 80 to 56 beats per minute and his blood pressure has dropped 25 points! Congratulations Danny!

I must make a quick comment today.
AWESOME Job Danny! Very Impressive. As I only get to see you every so often your results and body transformation is spectacular. Your commitment, consistency, and hard work extrinsically motivates me and I know it has to do the same to others. I look forward to you smoking me this summer. Great job to you and to Coach.
PS. I dig the shirt!
Keep up the good hard work CrossFit Jenks Crew! Nice “Carry your weight” WOD Coach! Train Hard, Train Smart, Train to Survive! OkieDB Out

OkieDB, First I want to say great time on “Angie”! As much as I would like to take credit for the design of the workout because it was a great workout, I can’t. Mr. Danny Smith himself created this “WOD”! I like the name “carry your weight” but I think this one deserves the name “Danny”.
Great job Danny
Me too…. I think that “Danny” is the perfect name for today’s WOD, so that is what I shall call it!! I’m looking forward to this one tonight, although I may be doing some modifications as Coach Breck said it was a “Good one”… ; ) we know what that REALLY means.

I am in awe of all of you completing “Danny” as Rx’d. I was setting the weight down in the middle of the Front squats because my upper shoulder back muscles were cramping. Maybe that is because…
…I did the main Crossfit WOD: Deadlift 3-3-3-3-3
I did
3@225
3@235
3@240
3@245
3@250
THEN I decided to attempt “Danny”.
I got through the SDLHP, Front squat (where I started resting the bar), Push Press (3-4 breaks here), Squat jump (my jumps were probably 4 inches), Walking lunge (I did 10 only because I was beginning to realize that I was dying), 10 Hang Power Snatches (which really went pretty good now that I am understanding how to get under snatches properly), and 10 horrifyingly difficult thrusters. All in 27:33.
You Jenks Crossfitters are a bunch of bad-asses. Somebody take some video of Loren. Anyway who can beat Breck’s time as Rx’d deserves some publicity.
OkieDB, the half-Angie on top of Angie? Gimme a break. There’s gotta be some good Iraqi movies or a bowling alley you could take in.
Great job Danny on the impressive results, especially with the back problems you have when you first joined.
Also great job this morning to Loren, Jim, and David. They all went with the big 45, and Loren is in his own league with that time!
As Nicole said, with this one having Breck’s official “good one” seal of approval, I sub’ed a 30 lb bar. I wasn’t too sure about using the 45 on a couple of the exercises Danny selected to torture us with. My main goals were to not put the bar down and to focus on form, so everything else was as Rx’d.
33:35
I had the most trouble with the lunges and hanging power snatches. Those were both pretty tough. I expect to be sore in a few new places tomorrow with all of the “creative resting positions” I used this morning.
“Carry your weight” aka “Danny”

45 Front Squats – 45 lbs

45 Walking Lunges – 45 lbs
45 Hanging Power Snatches – 45 lbs
45 Thrusters – 45 lbs
Worked on it as RX’d but my dang wuss hand gave out for the second time at #28 of the Hanging Power Snatches. So I was only able to complete 27 reps and then I was done for the day. Ice packed my hand most of the morning at work. It feels better now. Not the way I wanted to end such a good week of CrossFitin’ but it happens.
This was a great WOD and I want to try it again when my hand is up to it. Now if I can just make it through my Jiu Jitsu seminar tomorrow I’ll be good. 😛
