Dupler
Ok so I returned yesterday and after pondering for hours and consuming alcoholic beverages I’ve decided to address the 800 pound gorilla that was in the room Saturday morning:
1). OkieDB is freaking awesome!
2). It’s obvious that we got saddled with the wrong Berry cousin!
Now a lot of you people are going to say “hey Breck is pretty good…cmon!” And I will concede ok Breck’s got a beautiful mom, beautiful wife (she’s Hawaiian), beautiful children, great camera work and looked shredded in 2007 (check out the Fran video and ignore the music). But other than than those things what’s he really offer?
Today was eye opening….the Hank/Henry guy (yea I know don’t know why he uses two names but whatever) is like “hey Dupler what did u do like 2 rounds?” Well with my supreme detective skills I sensed an air of sarcasm (yea I’m really smart) coming from the Hank/Henry guy. But he brought up a good point. And that point was before OkieDB I would have called it good probably at 2 rounds. But with OkieDB encouraging me I pushed on through 3 extra rounds! The whole time OkieDB was just sending positive vibes my way! What was Breck doing you’d say? The answer….I have no idea!
I think I voice the feeling that everybody in the gym had this Saturday morning….which is thank 8lb baby Jesus for OkieDB!! If I had had OkieDB the whole time I’d never have even needed Zumba and Tae Bo!!
I am extremely excited, motivated and feel blessed to be able to help, work with, coach, train, and be a part of the CF Jenks community/family. The coaches and athletes at CF Jenks have been so inviting and train with great intensity while maintaining a focus on form and technique. Truly a coaches dream and shows great credit to the coaches and athletes at CF Jenks that already established this and continue to make it a daily standard. I truly do hope to contribute to this as a coach at CF Jenks.
One thing I wanted to share in regards to my personal training at CF Jenks, in the event some of you notice I perform a few things different than the regular programming or modify many exercises. I am currently recovering from a severe shoulder injury (old Army, motocross, mountain bike racing, and combatives injuries) and surgery that has a 6-12 month recovery period. It has been a long, slow, and hard recovery that I am continuing to battle. But please rest assure, while I am out of shape now and modify many moves, I truly believe in leading/coaching by example, and will continue to fight my way back to competitive CrossFit shape. I look forward to the push CF Jenks will give me to get there. However, please know this injury will not take away from my coaching ability and I will give the CF Jenks athletes and coaches my all.
