WOD @ 52#
74 reps total – had trouble getting my balance going the first round.
I’m glad we got to work out with Lynne. She was so inspiring and always up beat. I remember her story about why she started working out. She was having trouble moving her dogs food and couldn’t use the pill cutter without a lot of trouble. After a little while at CrossFit Jenks she didn’t have any trouble. Rest in peace Lynne!

Very sorry to hear about Lynne. What a kind person. Prayers going out to the family.
Thanks everyone, from the Murtha family. My mom loved Crossfit, and her olympic lifting! She got so much joy and fun from the people she met through Crossfit Jenks. She’d often comment about a tough workout, how well someone in particular had nailed the WOD, or wondered if I’d heard any news about people she hadn’t seen in a while.
I will truly miss her… she’s one of those people you feel blessed to have known. Scott, I am so sorry for your loss… I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

What a great way to remember a beautiful, strong, and intelligent woman– a workout just as tough as she was! I still have the nursing pin she gave me when she found out I was in nursing school 🙂 She was an inspiration and I am glad to have known her.

I met Lynne at Crossfit Jenks. She joined in January 2008. Even though I only knew her less than 4 years, she was my best friend. We had lunch together almost every week. The only weeks we didn’t meet were when she was booked with her pet sitting. We had so much in common..especially our love for animals & Crossfit. She was a very caring and giving person. She always had a gift for everyone! When I met with her that week, she gave me a dog leash to keep in my car in case I saw any stray dogs! I am going to miss her SO MUCH! Condolences to Scott and the Murtha family. Lynne was amazing! She was a fun person. Samantha, you described her perfectly!

(All, be sure and click on her name and watch Lynne doing her 52# OH Squats..only 30 seconds..and see her beautiful smile after she completes the lifts!)

Thoughts and prayers are with the Murtha family during their loss. Lynne always had just a beautiful smile and positive spirit about her. What an inspiration, and she will be missed at CFJ! Thanks for the memorial WOD Breck.
I read each of the comments and I’ll have to say I teared up at them. Lynne so loved Crossfit and was so upset when she had to give up exercising there because of her vertigo problem. She was so much looking forward to returning. Thanks to each of you that were such good friends for her.

I was so blessed to know Lynne. Her inspiring dedication to her health and fitness was only part of why I admired her. She loved animals with a compassion I have never known before. There was no animal too small or insignificant for her to touch with her gentle heart. I think she probably treated everyone with that same love. She truly radiated a light from within. She was fierce in the gym and filled with peace around animals. Thank you, Linda, for introducing us.
I was very saddened to hear of Lynne’s passing last week. Thoughts and prayers go out to Scott and his family. Lynne was always a positive/welcoming presence in the gym. Our conversations ranged from my love life to her dogs. She had a cheerful demeanor that deceived most of her true Crossfit beast nature. Her form was immaculate and a constant reference to Breck’s teachings.
Lynne was a good woman who lived a very good life. It will be different when I make it back to the gym. But I/we all know she is in a good place. We are all better for having a dose of Lynne in our lives.
Lynne was the very first person that I met when I started going to Crossfit. She was what I looked forward to seeing the most when I went to the gym. Her welcoming smile was purely genuine. I am so deeply saddened by her passing. I will never forget our trip to Dallas a few years back to watch Breck, Denver, Matt and Ginny. We had a great weekend. Our dinners will not be the same without you there. Thank you Lynne for letting me call you my friend.
Lynne was always a pleasure to be around. She had a big heart and it showed in many different ways. I know anytime I see a stray dog or animal in need of help I always ask myself what would Lynne do in this situation. I am glad that I had the opportunity to get to know Lynne.

I was so saddened to hear about Lynne’s passing. I have missed her warm and cheerful presence at the gym recently. I have thought about her often – wondering how she was. Scott, my prayers are with you and your family. Your mother was truly an amazing woman and Crossfitter! Lynne, may you rest in peace. We will miss you!
Our family is reading the comments, and the little notes or things everyone has mentioned are great memories. When I first started Crossfit, my mom was curious what I was doing. I remember telling her “Oh it’s not like All American. It’s hard!” Little did I know at the time what would become of her curiosity! Linda, she loved you too and loved the friendly competition. She was proud of your progress. She made sure I have a leash in my car too. It made me proud of the way she’d work so hard at the gym, and that she was my mom.
I am shocked and very saddened to learn of Lynne’s passing. I remember when she first started coming to CFJ and Breck would tease her about needing to pick up big bags of dogfood. I was always impressed with her dedication and determination. Often she would still be going strong while I was prone of the floor. I’ll never forget her telling the story of buying one of those big bags of dog food and telling the sacker boy that she didn’t need any help getting it to her car! I am so sorry for your loss Scott. I will be praying for you and your family.
I just saw this, I am sitting here absolutely shocked and saddened to find out Lynne passed away. She was a phenomenal person and always such a kind spirit to be around. my condolences.
